What you will be doing

  • Primary point of contact for different Application’s technical administration related issues.
  • Applications in scope would be SoftwareAG, Talend, Datastage, WebSphere MQ, Control-M, etc. Will work closely with infrastructure teams (servers, network, etc) to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Actively manage the performance of the various applications, including capacity planning and tuning.
  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure software consistency across the landscape.
  • Will participate in the IT Change Management process and validate/approval all Application admin related changes.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments and forecasts of future trends in the areas of application related technology.
  • Works with internal and external customers to understand their requirements in order to form a forward-thinking architectural vision for the infrastructure of the Company.
  • Provide input on, and support new projects affecting the Applications landscape.
  • Engage and interface directly with respective application vendor’s as required for product support/questions.
  • Create, manage team of Subject Matter Experts (SME) for each of the application under support.
  • Defines solutions by identifying requirements and writing functional specifications; consults with technical subject matter experts.
  • Advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits and impact on other business processes and system priorities; contributes to cost versus benefit measures.
  • Performs related duties as assigned. Responsible for Exadata systems.
  • Travel is estimated at 15%.

What your background should look like

  • Requires a BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent. 
  • Normally requires a minimum of seven (7) years directly related and progressively responsible experience in leading architecture design and implementation. 
  • Must have experience with OS (Linux/Windows) Administration or Oracle database administration and support.
  • Must have Oracle Exadata Experience.
  • Requires experience with implementation, operating, and performance management of Enterprise Applications running on different  Databases. 
  • Experience with SoftwareAG, Talned, Datastage, WebSphere MQ, Control-M is a plus.
  • Candidates should also have experience working with Custom developed applications based on including but not limited to tomcat, apache, jboss, IIS,  containers, etc.


  • Must have experience managing and building team of SME’s.
  • Minimum 7 yrs. with multiple application installations, upgrades, migrations.
  • Must have experience with setting up clusters for different applications.
  • Experience working on different databases (oracle, MS SQL, MySQL) a plus.
  • Ability to foster innovation and “out of the box” thinking while ensuring practical applications.
  • Ability to direct the formulation, definition and documenting of system architecture and objectives for assigned projects.
  • Solid understanding of business requirements and ability to prepare architectural specifications from which applications will be designed.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Good analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply technology knowledge to identify appropriate solutions.

  • Knowledge of computers to operative effectively with computer hardware such as general mainframe, midrange, network and desktop technologies; computer software includes application development lifecycle, MS Office Suite and Outlook.
