We’ll be looking for you to lead our FIU’s Office of Consumer Monitoring and Investigations (OCMI) European team which is responsible for global risk-based monitoring and analysis of Western Union money transfers, for the purpose of identifying any unusual or suspicious transactional trends, patterns, or activities. You will specifically be responsible for Anti-Money Laundering Compliance (AML) investigations and regulatory reporting by making sure the investigation function is performed accurately and timely in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements. A significant part of your job will be leading engagements with internal and external auditors/regulators in the review of and explaining processes and defending our program. As a Leader, you will also be responsible for a function-wide performance against key performance indicators while maintaining visibility and addressing any issues. You will be expected to build relationships and work closely with other departments globally to ensure focus on delivering progress toward the strategic priorities supporting the vision of Western Union. Employee development, succession and resource planning, function and site-wide efforts will be part of your daily routine as well.

For such an important role, you will need to have proven leadership experience and extensive experience within the AML Compliance field (preferred, within transaction monitoring, regulatory reporting, or investigations). You will need to have demonstrated an ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and have influenced them through your career. You must be a strategic thinker and be analytically minded in your approach whilst remaining able to manage change. We expect that you bring a continuous improvement mindset and can prove it with real-life examples. Multitasking is one of your key strengths and you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where tight deadlines can be expected. Fluency in English is a must. ACAMS certification and Italian or Spanish language skills would make you stand out. Previous experience of agile working methodologies is also desirable.

NB: for this role, the working hours shall be from 10 AM to 19 PM (with flexibility, if needed)

Annual base salary gross: 47,174 – 78,624 EUR

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Western Union salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.  The salary is one component of Western Union’s total compensation package for employees.
