In This Position, You Will

  • Report directly to the Director of Shipping and collaborate with internal stakeholders, making sure everyone is aligned
  • Demonstrate leadership by not only managing your own team, but by getting involved in day-to-day tasks first hand
  • Manage the financial performance of our shipping deals, ensuring that all contracts are a perfect combination of highest value for our members and cost efficiency 
  • Maintain active partnerships with our key shipping providers to monitor and improve service quality and expand our shipping network as our markets expand
  • Establish relationships with relevant international and national shipping players, in order to have an up-to-date overview of shipping networks in Europe
  • Build and lead a team of Key Account Management that is capable to negotiate and maintain the highest value shipping proposition for our clients

About You

  • 5+ years of managerial experience in the e-commerce, big retail or shipping industries
  • Experience with hiring and developing a team of people
  • In-depth knowledge of the European shipping market
  • Contract negotiation and procurement experience
  • Excellent team-management skills
  • Practice in managing multiple shipping contracts and ensuring that they are always high-performing and competitively priced
  • Great communication skills – you need to be able to report product needs to shipping companies in order to improve service levels for our members
  • Ability to strike competitive deals, as well as build beneficial, long-term partnerships with shipping partners
  • A hands-on, can-do attitude – you don’t hesitate to get involved and do what needs to be done to ensure success
